Millennium bim and Camões – Portuguese Cultural Center signed a cooperation protocol today with the aim of promoting Mozambican culture, through a set of initiatives to be developed over two years.

This partnership is part of the Bank's Social Responsibility program, “Mais Moçambique pra Mim”, under the Culture pillar, and aims to stimulate intergenerational projects, actions aimed at children, activities to value heritage and collective memory, as well as support for contemporary artistic creation.

“Culture is a mobilizing force that unites communities and builds the future. This partnership with Camões, established in such a symbolic year, not only for Mozambique, but also for Millennium bim, which is celebrating 30 years of commitment to the country, represents another firm step in our mission to contribute to a more inclusive, creative society that is aware of its history,” said Moisés Jorge, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Millennium bim.

In turn, Camões – Portuguese Cultural Center highlighted the importance of partnerships with the private sector to boost the cultural fabric and strengthen bilateral cooperation ties between Mozambique and Portugal, placing culture as a vector of transformation and rapprochement between peoples.

With the establishment of this partnership, Camões – Portuguese Cultural Center in Mozambique aims to enhance the common heritage that is enriched by the interaction of different identities and the cultural and artistic diversity that characterize and represent the two countries.

With the support of Millennium bim, the CCP Maputo programme will be able to carry out more initiatives that integrate Portuguese-Mozambican partnerships and highlight the positive and fruitful results for both countries that result from cooperation in the areas of culture and knowledge.
