A statement from the Institute for the Management of State Shareholdings (IGEPE), cited by Rádio Moçambique, states that the Director of Finance, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Altino Xavier Mavile, and the Director of Technical and Operational Services, Bruno Miguel Domengue Lorena Heliotrope Miranda, were also dismissed.
In fact, a new Non-Executive Board of Directors was appointed, composed of employees of the shareholder companies, Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), and Empresa Moçambicana de Seguros (EMOSE).
A Management Committee with executive functions was appointed to ensure the day-to-day management of the airline. The Committee will be led by Dane Kondic, the Chairman, with Lucas António Francisco as member for Administration and Finance, and Hilário Devis Tembe, responsible for the Technical and Operational area. These changes come after the President of the Republic recently denounced the existence of lobbyists at LAM interested in further sinking a company already in crisis. Without naming names, he said that there would be changes at the company.
